Why butterflies?

For as long as I can remember I have loved butterflies. The colors, how they float through the air, the process in which they transform from a caterpillar into a vibrant, winged creature - all amazing!

There are several times during our lives that we go through this metamorphosis from becoming that caterpillar to a majestic butterfly - - early childhood, school years and maturing into adulthood. For many of us, it's a never ending process. A constant evolution form what we were to what we will become, a driven mindset to better tomorrow than we were yesterday in everything that we do.

The journey (my metamorphosis) has not only improved what I think about myself but how I see the world. I know now that there things in life that are pre-destined for us. Contracts made within the universe before we are even born and expiration dates of when our physical journey ends. I don't see death as ending for us in the physical world but more of a lesson to come out of the experience that we were able to share with the souls that go before us. Being more enlightened to a different level of connection to the universe helps me to see, feel and understand these teachings.

Do I think that I am out of my "cocoon" yet? Nope, but I am getting closer to that light. I am still in my "spiritual closet" if you will. Confident and ready to share my abilities with the world; yet still being cautious and shy about showing my true self. Like the butterfly I am still in my metamorphosis, not quite ready to soar in the breeze.

This, like any journey, will take time. Will take me putting myself out there and break through this comfort zone. And someday soon I will be the vibrantly, colored butterfly spending my wings to soar amongst the flowers.
